In celebration of the 2025 Year of the Snake, Mercure Danang French Village Ba Na Hills proudly introduces the exclusive red envelope collection, Snakes of Five Elements. This exquisite creation blends artistic illustration, Eastern philosophy, and the iconic architecture of Ba Na, offering guests a unique and aesthetic Tet experience.
Symbols of the Five Elements and Ba Na’s Iconic Landmarks
The snakes of Five Elements collection features five designs, each representing one of the Five Elements: Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth. These elements are artfully embodied in stylized serpent motifs intertwined with Ba Na’s most iconic architectural landmarks. These landmarks not only symbolize the pride of Ba Na but also encapsulate the unique experiences Mercure Danang provides its visitors.
From the initial sketches, the serpents were skillfully integrated into famous landmarks of Ba Na Hills. This serves as a tribute to the destination and an homage to those who have contributed to the preservation and development of the area where Nui Chua mountain is located over time—from past struggles to present accomplishments, and into the future.
A Creative Journey of Challenges
The production process of the Snakes of Five Elements red envelopes took just two short weeks. From selecting artists, conceptualizing designs, and discussing illustration styles to finalizing and completing the product, every step was undertaken with utmost dedication.
The greatest challenge was finding the perfect harmony between Eastern and Western art styles, achieved through symmetrical layouts and stylized decorative motifs. Each detail on the red envelope carries profound artistic significance.
Artistic Distinction – Bridging East and West
The depiction of the Five Elements is inspired by tarot card compositions, striking a balance between Eastern and Western cultures through symmetrical patterns and intricate designs. The use of Risograph printing—a traditional silkscreen-inspired method—ensures optimal production efficiency while preserving the artistic essence.
Geometric patterns inspired by Aztec civilization represent the Five Elements, while each serpent design adheres to three core principles: alignment with its corresponding element, symbolic patterns, and the inclusion of landmarks or iconic features associated with that element.
